The Georges in Peru

This will cure anything

06 May 2026

One of the women from church was sick and hasn't come for a month so we went to visit her this afternoon.  Her husband said he was worried that she was going to die as she hadn't eaten anything for 2 weeks; she just drank water.  She is better now, but still not feeling great.  A neighbor had recommended 'Sacha Jergón' which she took.  "Can I see the bottle?" I asked, curious as to what it was and always wanting to learn about new things.  A quick check on the Internet says that “Sacha Jergón” usually refers to the Amazonian medicinal plant Dracontium loretense, a tuberous plant traditionally used in the jungle regions for snakebites, infections, inflammation, and various folk remedies.  I love its bold claims:  Cures chronic diseases, upset stomachs, gastritis, ulcers, fatty livers, gallstones, arthritis of various types, osteoporosis, diabetes, high cholesterol, cancer, kidney stones, UTIs, heart disease, epilepsy, nerves and psoriasis!  Among others.  I can only suspect 'hot flashes' are included in the 'among others' as this is the combination for women.  Men have their own recipe, I guess.  Why even go to medical school if this stuff exists?

She said it tasted terrible, so it must work!
